Gail Gibbons has a newish book out--just published in April by Scholastic--
(yep, for kiddies & those who think like kiddies)
called _Tell Me, Tree: All About Trees for Kids_.
The water color illustrations of both leaves and bark make for a great,
simple way to begin learning identification.
Also, the discussion on "woody plants" covers
just about everything I ever learned in Plant Bio 171--LOL.
Not too expensive either (paper back). ISBN: 0-439-65261-8
Anyone else know of other trail-handy books?
